CARRIE ZWICK-JOHNSON
Meet Carrie – Hot Yoga, Inferno Hot Pilates & ShapeShifting InstructorCarrie has been moving to the beat since she was a little girl—pressing play on Jane Fonda and Denise Austin workout tapes in her childhood living room. Her love of fitness and wellness started early and only deepened over time.
Before becoming a teacher, Carrie spent many years working as a nurse, where she developed a deep understanding of the human body and what it truly means to take care of it. While raising two kids (now grown), life got stressful—as it often does for moms—and that’s when she found Bikram Yoga. What started as a stress reliever became a daily practice, and eventually, a new path. Carrie became a certified yoga teacher and later an Inferno Hot Pilates instructor—her favorite way to sweat!Alongside her husband Ian, Carrie continued her studies with renowned teacher Mary Jarvis, completing Yoga ShapeShifting training in 2021. Her teaching style is grounded in compassion, knowledge, and the belief that movement is medicine.
Carrie’s mission is simple: to help people feel better. Whether it's gaining strength, reducing stress, or building confidence, she wants every student to feel empowered in their body and inspired to care for their health—before it becomes a crisis. After years caring for the sick as a nurse, she’s now devoted to helping people stay strong, healthy, and thriving

LEO
Leo is a big, bald, tattooed former bartender and hockey player from Philly. He’s lived a lot of life—and not all of it in the healthiest way. Before discovering yoga, Leo found himself at a crossroads, staring down a path that was leading nowhere fast.
At the time, he weighed 418 pounds. His days were filled with heavy eating, drinking, and the physical toll of years of hard living. Concerned for his health, Leo’s wife encouraged him to visit a doctor. The message he received was clear and urgent: if he didn’t make a drastic behavioral change immediately, his life would be in serious danger.
Leo began by modifying his diet, and over time, managed to lose 40 pounds. But soon he hit a plateau. He knew he had to do more—but wasn’t sure what. That’s when he turned his attention to something he had been observing quietly for a while: his wife’s Bikram Yoga practice. Not only had it transformed her body, but it also improved her overall well-being and mindset in ways that caught Leo’s attention.
In 2002, Leo stepped into the hot room for the first time—and never looked back.
The yoga challenged him in ways he never expected. It tested him, strengthened him, and healed him from the inside out. Over time, it transformed his body, mind, and life. Moved by the power of the practice and eager to help others discover the same healing, Leo went to Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in Spring 2005.
Since then, he’s been teaching full-time—leading 20+ classes a week with a passion and energy that can only be described as contagious. Leo’s teaching is more than instruction—it’s motivation. It’s a call to action. He believes in empowering people to help themselves, to look beyond the reflection in the mirror and connect with the person on the mat—the one who’s showing up, day after day, to do the work.
Leo’s story is more than a transformation—it's a reminder that change is possible, no matter where you start. His journey continues to inspire countless students who walk into the studio unsure of what’s next, and leave believing in their own ability to rise.
